What do future extensions for the Braves stars look like?

NEW YORK, NY – AUGUST 03: Ronald Acuna Jr. #13 and Ozzie Albies #1 of the Atlanta Braves joke around prior to the start of the game against the New York Mets at Citi Field on August 3, 2018 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. (Photo by Mike Stobe/Getty Images)

While free agents are being pursued for large quantities of dollars, what about the task of taking care of those we already have?

It is never too early to start thinking about extensions for two of the Atlanta Braves young studs, Ronald Acuna and Ozzie Albies, as well as franchise cornerstone Freddie Freeman when his contract is up in 2021. When is the best time to pursue an extension for these guys? How much would it cost? How long?

The moment Ronald Acuna’s home run found the upper deck at Great American Ballpark last April, I began thinking about him being a mainstay in the Braves lineup for years to come.

To have him, Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman man the top of the Braves order for the next five to seven years allows me to dream about World Series ring(s).

Which begs the first of many questions:

When can the Braves start thinking about extensions for these three all-stars?
