At this point, you are probably well aware of what Cristian Pache brings to the table at this point in his minor league career. While there are some that doubt his hit tool as well as to be a consistent on-base threat, he has off the charts athleticism and could potentially be a Gold Glove centerfielder right now if you believe the optimists. He is still quite young and we don’t really know what kind of player he will be yet, but in terms of ceiling…it is hard to find guys more fun to dream on than Pache.
Cristian played down in the Arizona Fall League this year and did well even if the numbers didn’t jump off the page like some other players, although his defense still got the attention of basically anyone that watched him. However, Pache still impressed his contemporaries enough on both sides of the ball to get some recognition from the league.
Pache was the only Brave to get named to the team and was one of six outfielders recognized by the AFL’s managers and coaches along wish Luis Robert, Ryan McKenna, Sam Hilliard, Daz Cameron, and Nick Heath.
As we get into the heart of the 2018-19 offseason, there are a few big story lines surrounding Pache. One, will he continue to develop at the plate to be a legitimate two-way player that has a chance to become an All-Star since 2018 was a step forward although not necessarily a big one? Second, will he be in the Braves organization when the season starts given just how active many think the Braves will be on the trade market this offseason?
