The Atlanta Braves will be unveiling their revamped uniforms for the 2019 season as part of Saturday’s Chop Fest, the team’s annual fan festival.
The refreshed uniforms will be revealed at 11:30 a.m. in the Plaza outside SunTrust Park. Braves stars Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman, Ender Inciarte and Dansby Swanson will be on hand to debut the uniforms for fans.
The uniform unveiling is a small part of Saturday’s festivities, which will also feature baseball clinics on the field, gaming stations where fans can play Playstation with players, autograph and photo opportunities, Q&A sessions and more.
“For us, this truly signifies the start of the 2019 season,” said Greg Mize, senior director of marketing and innovation for the Braves. “This is the first time in 2019 that we’re going to have our players back here at SunTrust Park. Looking at the calendar, you’ve got Chop Fest this weekend, and then the next thing you know, we’re loading up the truck and heading down to Florida for Spring Training. Before you know it, it’s April 1st and Opening Day here. This is really that spark that truly ignites the 2019 season.”
With the exception of the autograph sessions, for which fans must purchase time slot reservations in advance, Chop Fest is free. Mize said there will be some free autograph opportunities for children, however.
Last year’s Chop Fest saw the Braves debut their new mascot, Blooper.
Chop Fest is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, a schedule of events and a map of the festivities, visit braves.com/chopfest.
