Whether it was posturing or delivering a message, Boston GM Dave Dombrowski through water on a potential reunion with free agent closer Craig Kimbrel on Thursday.

Kimbrel’s market seems to have shrunk and he may fall short of his original asking price but remains the top reliever left on the market.
The Yankees further improved an already stacked bullpen on Thursday signing free agent Adam Ottavino to a three-year deal.
Right-hander Cody Allen also has a new home agreeing to a one-year deal with the Anaheim Angels for something in the neighborhood of $9 million.
