Brian Snitker expecting decision on his status by end of the week
Braves manager Brian Snitker reportedly expects to have word on whether he will return in 2019 by the end of the week. Snitker managed the Braves to a 90-72 regular season record in route to an NL East title, the club’s first since 2013.
Anibal Sanchez planning on pitching in 2019
After signing with the Braves on a minor league deal, Anibal Sanchez was a very pleasant surprise this season and now reportedly intends to continue playing, with a preference to remain in Atlanta. Sanchez’ performance in 2018 earned him a start in Game 2 of the Division Series at Los Angeles, which highlights both his effectiveness this season and the Braves’ dire need for front-line starting pitching if they are to compete in the postseason.
Braves No. 6 prospect Cristian Pache (No. 68 overall) tallied three hits, an RBI and scored two runs as Peoria won for a second time in as many games.
Not really baseball-related, but uh… yeah.
