Atlanta Braves Winter Meeting Simulation Day Two: Bench and Bullpen

Day two saw a ton of mock free agent signings – none by the Atlanta Braves yet – as well as quite a few trades; my Braves did make a couple of those.

As the mock-GM for the Atlanta Braves, I continued to work the simulation to fill the needs already laid out.  As a reminder to all, this is a 3 day FanSided event in which Faux General Managers representing the 30 MLB teams try to build their clubs for the next season – often in strong competition for the same players.

Accordingly, the Faux Nationals made a last-minute deal to ‘sign’ former Orioles’ closer Zach Britton (three years – $36M) while the Pheaux Phillies brought back catcher Wilson Ramos (three years – $32M).

The White Sox simulated a trade to bring Michael Wacha and Carson Kelly in exchange for former top 20 prospect Lucas Giolito and unranked first baseman Gavin Sheets.

The Pirates reluctance to deal their #2 and MLB’s #48 prospect Ke’Bryan Hayes, their #11 RHP Luis Escobar and their #12, RHP Steve Jennings melted away when they agreed on a mock traded with Arizona for Robbie Ray.

The initial Atlanta Braves mock trade of the day came when the Orioles agreed their first simulated trade of the event and parted with Trey Mancini.
